Meet Alissa

Hi, I’m Alissa, and I’m so glad you found your way here!
Yoga is an effective practice of physical postures, breath, focus, and awareness which provides healing and empowerment for so many people. Whatever your reason for approaching this practice, you will find the answers you seek on your mat—I know it.

I am grateful everyday that I am able to witness the magic of yoga.

I am consistently in awe of modern yoga practitioners who step onto their mat and/or meditation cushion day in and day out. This practice is for the brave. It takes courage to see Truth for what it is and not run from it or hide. The discipline gives you a stability and steadiness in your life while

I created Inner Peace Yoga School in 2019 because I saw a shortcoming in the local Vinyasa Yoga Trainings and that was trainings were taught with primarily one style in mind with one lead teacher, but I wanted to shake that up… so I did. When you learn how to teach yoga from me I will share with you both the rules, guidelines, and traditions of the yoga styles I know, but then I teach you how the practice has evolved with modern fitness and science. This means I and the incredible team of guest instructors with Inner Peace Yoga School are constantly personally taking trainings and courses as well as evolving our curriculum.

Whether in a weekly yoga class, a full moon workshop, or in a yoga teacher training, it would be my honor to mentor you as you realize your dream of teaching yoga.

In Peace- Alissa

P.S. I highly recommend meeting me in person, taking a class from me, etc. before you sign up for a full blown yoga training with me.

(In trainings, I love to teach people who are motivated to learn, have dedicated practices, and don’t mind some work.)

Alissa’s Story:

Alissa Kepas is one multi-faceted, dynamic, and passionate teacher in the Heart of Utah Valley. She was born in Provo, moved away for a few years, and was back & growing up in Orem by the age of 8. Despite living here nearly her entire life, Alissa definitely brings her own unique flare & ever-evolving wisdom to the Utah County Wellness Scene.

Alissa’s yoga journey was seeded back in her junior year of high school, her eccentric yet oh-so-real Mythology teacher took her class on a field trip to the local Hare Krishna temple and it was there that Alissa saw yoga being practiced for the first time in real life. By college, she had a pass to her local studio and primarily practiced yoga for stress relief.

After the birth of her daughter, Alissa took her first yoga teacher training and has never looked back. She has journeyed to study various yoga lineages at the feet of living Masters and Gurus all for the purpose to bring the knowledge back to Utah Valley and share it with anyone who wants to learn how to live a healthier and happier life.

She taught public school for 15 years in Utah Valley, and one of her greatest joys and accomplishments in that capacity was being able to teach yoga and mindfulness to middle schoolers.

Other than all the yoga that fills her moments, Alissa cherishes the time she gets to be with her husband, Chandler and their three children. When not on the yoga mat, they prefer to spend their time together off the grid, on the golf course, in the mountains, or in an ice bath!
